For family and loved ones
My loved one is being treated
Your partner, family or friend comes into treatment – how does that work?
The illness of a loved one can have a huge impact on your life. The NPI is happy to help you deal with this properly. After all, family, friends and other loved ones are permanent, the assistance is often temporary. We invest in close cooperation between client, relatives and practitioner. When clients no longer have a network, we work on restoring it.
Involvement in treatment
Treatment is often more effective when family and friends are given a role. We experience this in practice and it is also shown by research. Cooperation between the client, people from his environment and the care providers is therefore of great importance to us.
We call this triadic work. In this way, relatives can provide information about the course of the disease and about the effects of treatment.
When we properly involve the client's family or friends in the treatment, it usually facilitates the return of people to their own environment and there is less chance of a relapse.
Support during treatment
We realize that it can be drastic when a loved one is being treated by us. That is why the NPI wants to help reduce the feelings of overload, mourning and depression among family and friends. This is not only pleasant for themselves, it also allows them to dedicate themselves better to their sick family member or friend.
Relatives consultant
All our teams and practitioners can make use of a Relatives Consultant. This person makes contact with relatives and family on behalf of the team or practitioner and supports the cooperation between care providers, client and relatives.
