After the intake interview

What happens after the intake interview?

Following the intake interview, further examination may be required. Your practitioner will discuss this with you. You will have a consultation at the end of the intake interview. During this consultation, you will discuss a possible diagnosis and the next steps.

It’s a good idea to bring along a close friend or relative to this consultation.

What can I expect from the advisory appointment?

After the two intake appointments, the intake counsellor will schedule an advisory appointment to discuss the next steps. During this meeting, you will talk through the different treatment options. This treatment may take place at NPI or at another provider. You are actively involved in deciding which treatment option suits you best. If the treatment takes place at NPI, a preliminary treatment plan will be drawn up and you will be placed on the waiting list for this treatment. You can find more information about the treatments offered at NPI here.

How long does it take for the treatment to start?

The intake counsellor will inform you of the waiting time for your treatment. Current waiting times are also published on our website.

Who is my point of contact from the intake onwards?

From the first intake appointment and while you are waiting for treatment to begin, the intake counsellor will be your point of contact for any questions or if you are not feeling well.

What if I do not agree with the proposed treatment plan?

Together, we will look at which treatment option and treatment plan best suit your needs and wishes. This way, you will receive tailored treatment advice. You have the right to request a second opinion from another healthcare professional regarding the proposed treatment plan. If NPI turns out not to be the right place for you, we will explore suitable alternatives together. We will then discuss the options for treatment outside NPI with you and your general practitioner.
